1968 Shelby GT-500KR

Real deal "King of the Road" 428 CJ. This 1968 GT-500 KR is one of just 73 built with this paint package and trim codes. The factory optioned, Raven Black has been resprayed once, quite a while ago. The Black Decor interior is original and does show some wear but everything is there, as it was from the factory. This car has not been restored. It is powered by a date code correct 428-4V Cobra Jet and a date code correct C-6 Automatic transmission and correct 9 inch, 3.50 Traction-Lok rear axle. The Marti Report confirms this GT-500 was ordered with the GT Equipment Group, Power Steering and Power Front Disc Brakes. A tilt-away steering column, tachometer and trip odometer.

This car was built by Carroll Shelby in conjunction with Ford to be the King of the Road. Taking the drag champion 428 Cobra Jet engine and installing it in a car that featured some of the best suspension components of it's time, truly made this the ultimate driving machine. Hot Rod magazine called it "the fastest running pure stock in the history of man." These cars are extremely rare and are getting harder to find. Don't let this one escape you! Call today.
